I want to take a moment to appreciate applications that make teachers' lives easier - especially when they're free. One of my favorite easy, free, time-saving, and all around amazing picks is Flippity.net! Prepare to have your world changed!
Flippity easily turns any Google spreadsheet into flashcards, manipulatives, a spelling quiz, a memory game, a word search, and more. Teachers can use Flippity for a variety of purposes: to present to the class, individual student practice, or to have students make their own creations. In each case, check out the demo, and then use the templates and detailed instructions provided to transform your spreadsheet.
There are several activities available for free and ALL of the things on the Flippity site are Google Sheets templates. These Sheets templates can easily be customized by you as the teacher, or better yet, distributed via Google Classroom to students as an engaging activity!

- Template: Make a copy of the Google Spreadsheet. Replace the information with your own to customize! Even add image links to embed images.
Grab your template! It will automatically copy to your drive. Edit the spreadsheet by customizing with your own content. The templates are all different, but have many of the same concepts. Do not edit any of the blue cells. When you are finished, publish your activity from the “File” menu. After you publish, go to the “Get Link Here” tab, and click for your activity!
To share with students, just give them the link. No login required! Unfortunately, that means that their work isn’t saved, but it’s a great practice option. Students can always take a screenshot if you want them to turn it in!
